Work and Travel

Four summers in the States, all thanks to Fletcher Lynd agency! 🇺🇸 Every moment since I arrived has been nothing short of amazing — from working at one of Nantucket’s top event agencies as a server to being part of unforgettable weddings, cocktail parties, and birthdays. It’s true, money isn’t everything—it’s the friends and memories that make it all worthwhile! I can’t wait for what next summer brings!

I spent my Work and Travel program in Stowе, Vermont and it gave me the opportunity to meet amazing people, visit many places I wouldn’t otherwise have the chance to and make unforgettable moments, putting myself in a new environment. Hawaii, New York, Grand Canyon, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and Boston are just some of the cities I was able to visit after two summers in the states! Being in a new environment and seeing other people’s way of thinking and traditions is what enriched me the most. Stepping out of my comfort zone and being away from home for four months helped me develop a lot of personality traits that I wouldn't have been able to!

This summer, I experienced my first Work and Travel program in Ogunquit, Maine, working at a restaurant called 'That Place in Ogunquit' and later at 'Cove Cafe.' I met amazing people, including my Romanian roommate, and explored Boston and New York. The bagels in NYC were incredible, and I made friends from all over the world. On my days off, I visited Boston, which was beautiful. The people were friendly, and I did a lot of shopping and sightseeing. After that, I went to New York. At first, it felt a bit overwhelming, but I quickly got used to it. It's such a big city with so much diversity—I loved it! I can’t wait to return next year for more adventures and memories!"

Many thanks to Fletcher Lynd for helping me to fulfil one of my biggest dreams - to travel and explore America while working and earning some finances. I am currently a Master’s degree student in “International Banking and Financial Markets” at UNWE. Three years ago, I won a scholarship and was selected to be an ambassador for the Ambassadors Fund for SW&T. I was assigned to Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk in the summer of 2022, and I also travelled to Washington and New York. During my first summer, I worked in a restaurant at the amusement park, during the second summer, I was an administrative assistant at the office, and in my third summer in 2024, I worked as a personal analyst for the director and made new projects and systems and won a scholarship to continue my education.
